Lotion recipe

Stop and make it! That's what I told myself last week. I wondered how a lotion would feel with some shea butter. I know what it's like 50%/50% with oils. But what does it feel like in smaller amounts and with other goodies? I tweaked this once and I am sure I will tweak it again and again. That's what I love about making my own products. This recipe is inspired by Swift's Anti-Itch Lotion. The recipe I put together is thick and dries silky. A little goes a long way. If I was to tweak this now I would aim for a thinner consistency.

TT-Onions vs Flu

If you surf Pinterest I am sure you have seen the strange pin about leaving a raw onion out over night to absorb germs. I don't know if there is any scientific proof to this claim, I can say that after 2 hours of leaving a raw onion in the kitchen my chest is clear and I can breath. http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/onion-flu-remedy/

My lotions

Just over three years ago I developed super sensitive skin. Brands I loved and used for years was making my condition worst. I was on a mission to educate myself on ingredients and recipes. I stumbled upon Point of Interest blog. Her blog is exactly what I was looking for. She details the chemical ingredients in body care products. I was able to choose which ingredients I thought was best for my skin type but remember everyone is different.

Storage for Christmas

I am happy to report that I finished the Christmas storage. I spent roughly $40 on the storage bins. I much prefer the Home Depot black top lock bins over the blue Lowe's bins (were on sale $5). The blue Lowe's bin broke twice at the store and doubled our waiting time for new ones. The black Home Depot are much stronger and the plastic is thicker.

Thursday Tip-MELAMINE SPONGE

I am sure you know what MELAMINE SPONGE is and might have some in your house for cleaning. It's aka Formaldehyde-Melamine-Sodium bisulfite copolymer aka Mr Cleaner Eraser. Did the word Formaldehyde jump at you too? I originally was going to write about the magic of this cleaning sponge. Now I am concerned of it's chemical makeup. I did a bit of researching. The Copolymer is mostly in the musical industry as a sound barrier. It's also used as insulation in other countries.
