Beeswax is known to lock in moisture while offering anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits. It repels water therefore it doesn't wash off easily. It creates a barrier on your skin.

I started the journey of eliminating commercial cleaning products for more natural alternatives. I prefer to make my own then spend several dollars for the same result. I had stopped using liquid fabric softener a few years ago. I had notice the film on our sheets and how irritated our skin had become. Towels also became less absorbent. Eliminating fabric softener (unscented included) the film wasn't forming as quickly on newer sheets. I was still using unscented dryer sheets for the softness and anti-static benefits. I needed a solution.
Wool dryer balls! They are non-toxic & hypoallergenic. They reduce drying time, reduce static (fleece items not included), & soften clothes. They will fray overtime but you can remove the pills with a disposable razor.
I ordered my set of 6 locally from Etsy. You can learn how to make your own from Crunchy Betty.

The amount of oil to sugar depends on the consistence you want. For sensitive skin I recommend 1/2 oil to 1/2 sugar. Vegetable Glycerin is a nice addition. Just include that in your oil phase. Little fragrance goes a long way. I would start with 2-3 drops of essential oil. Citrus scents may cause skin sensitivity when exposed to the sun. Always test for allergies.

I started creating my own personal care products a little over 8 months ago. It started as a Christmas Spa gift for family. Afterwards I was left with product and unsure how to use them. I have done tons of research over the last few months. I have made mistakes along the way. I highly recommend anyone attempting this journey to read the blog "Point of Interest". Susan is extremely knowledgeable and researches every aspect. Please read her site for a few days before attempting on your own. I have spent the last 2 months jumping from 2009-2012 posts. I always walk away with new knowledge. I wish I had started with her site months ago but you learn through mistakes too.
